Shanley Ashcraft, MSW, LISW
Greetings! My name is Shanley Ashcraft and I am very excited to join PCS as a DBT therapist. I recently moved back to Toledo after a decade away and have thoroughly enjoyed getting reacquainted with the area. After completing High School at Perrysburg, I attended the University of Toledo (Go Rockets!) where I obtained both my BSW (2012) and MSW (2013) degrees. I was accepted into the Peace Corps in 2013, packed 2 bags, and moved to Botswana for 3 years doing work related to HIV treatment and eradication. In 2016, I made the tough choice to move back to America and work towards my LISW as a school-based therapist in Cincinnati, OH. Here, I got to explore different therapy approaches and really found a love for DBT and Trauma treatment.
Working as a school-based therapist during COVID had its challenges and ultimately led to my decision to pivot into an administrative role with a private health company in 2021. Here, I have a unique opportunity to continue using my independent license as I research, develop, and host CE training opportunities for licensed staff. I am still currently working in this role, full time, and am excited to get back into practice with PCS. I’ve missed therapy more than I anticipated - It truly is a calling.
